Elks Donation for New AED'S!

Sunday, May 4, 2014  This afternoon South Plainfield EMS was honored to receive a check from the South Plainfield Elks which made it possible to purchase all new AED's! Chief Edward Laferrera would personally like to thank the members of both organizations that started this project and saw it through to the end! Without the Elks this purchase would not have been possible! THANK YOU!


     



 

Lincoln Tech Open House!

Saturday, March 22, 2014  South Plainfield EMS participated in  Lincoln Tech's open house evert this past Saturday. Our members volunteered their time by taking  blood pressures, giving out temporary tattoos and preforming first aid demonstrations. Overall it was a great event and SPEMS was pleased to be a part of it!


     



 

USA Taekwondo Standby

Sunday, March 9, 2014  South Plainfield EMS provided rapid emergency care for all participants. While primarily focused on assessing and treating any injuries sustained from the competition, a fully staffed ambulance was on scene for emergency transport.   South Plainfield EMS provides standby ambulance crews for any event. Ice Rescue Training

Sunday, January 19, 2014  South Plainfield EMS participated in an ice rescue class this weekend with the South Plainfield and Watchung Fire Departments. Classroom operations were conducted on Saturday, and the group moved to Watchung Lake on Sunday for the actual ice rescue operations.

South Plainfield EMS setup their rehab trailer for the day to provide rehab to all the participants. The Watchung Rescue Squad assisted South Plainfield EMS during the rehab of all the ice rescue technicians. All participating agencies  learned a lot and were able to help the event run smoothly.

Pasta Dinner with Santa

Saturday, December 21, 2013 5pm-8pm The South Plainfield Rescue Squad and the South Plainfield Lions Club host this years Pasta Dinner with Santa!  On Saturday, December 21 at the Senior Center between 5pm and 8pm the pasta dinner will take place.


We encourage everyone to bring their camera so you can take photos with Santa!


     


 

Halloween Haunted Maze!



The South Plainfield Rescue Squad and Knights of Columbus  are Hosting a Haunted Halloween Maze inside the Rescue squad on  October 24th (Thursday) 6pm-10pm  & October 24th (Friday) 6pm-11pm. This Maze is child friendly and will have an admission of $5 per person.



     



 

Car Show Success!

Monday, August 19, 2013   South Plainfield EMS held our sixth annual car show and it was our best one yet! We would like to thank all of those individuals who helped us reach our goals. We look forward to our seventh car show next year and have taken in all the comments and tips we were given to continue improving the experience. After the day was over we were able to raise over 2,000$ for our organization which helps us gain supplies, training, upkeep of our headquarters and other miscellaneous things required to keep our doors open. 

     



 

Christmas in July!

Monday, August 19, 2013   South Plainfield EMS participated in the Christmas in July events with our own stand alongside many other vendors. Our members volunteered their time to hand out balloons, giving temporary tattoos and take blood pressures. Overall it was a great event and an awesome way for our organization to give back to the township. Christmas in July was put together by the South Plainfield Business Association as well as the South Plainfield Cultural Arts Commission. The focus of the day was bringing more residents to the downtown area of South Plainfield in a "street fair" fashion.
